Funds

BYKA works with a wide range of businesses and organizations in order to raise funds for projects that in turn support NGO's, job creation, food production, housing projects, innovative technology, and education whether they are connected to BYKA or not. Since BYKA is focused on creating businesses that support the community as a whole we strongly encourage those employees and new business owners that we have supported to give back to the NGO's that helped them in the first place. In addition we support a core set of organizations such as the EWAY Foundation.

The following explains how we currently work.

Funding Projects

Projects that need funding are put in a priority list per region or location. All projects from all regions are reviewed to see if there are economies of scale or resources from one location are better served in another. New BYKA locations are typically started through the raising of enough funds to provide youth training, the training of local trainers and the start of BYKA small business.

What Can you Donate or Sell to BYKA

Where possible we try to provide direct benefit to the community that BYKA is located in by purchasing from local merchants. Where this is not possible or too expensive we see if there are cheaper services close by.

BYKA needs tools, bicycle repair supplies, cameras with memory cards, computers, printers with ink and paper and project specific items such as projectors.

Payments are made through the NGO's we support and need to be identified with a location such as the Anti Rape training in Uganda, Ghana and Liberia.

Business Startups

BYKA's focus is the creation of jobs through the creation of local businesses that provide a service or product that is consumed locally and the potential for export. Those who wish to support these initiatives should contact us directly so that we can provide information on the technology budget and methodology we use.
