School Competition To Support BYKA Projects

Help raise money for a BYKA project in Africa and get your group visible on Google Earth and a GIS (Graphical Information Systems) map. Use your mobile phone to give us your GPS location then tell us about your campaign to help produce a YouTube video.

When you support BYKA, your donation not just helps purchase a bicycle, but also helps improve lives. Each donated dollar helps provide a zero interest loan to a local citizen. This means that after the person pays the loan back in 2 to 3 years, the money is then used to get another bike. This process of empowerment beats charity, in that the process encourages ownership and financial independence.


Furthermore, your donation helps buy equipment and tools, provides transportation to training and events, and creates support of local businesses and the community in which they thrive. BYKA currently has projects in Ghana, Kenya, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Uganda, and Nepal... with countries being added monthly.


Your school or group will not only be visible on Google Earth, but will also have a chance to interact with the GIS team, to learn more about how Graphical Information Systems are helping solve complex issues around the globe. Solutions include where to grow food, and water purification and road construction.
